A service of the Ham Radio Promotion Project.
The video “Amateur Radio: Wireless Window to the World”
provides an introduction to this global hobby and highlights its fun
and public service aspects. The 15-minute video answers many questions
that viewers may have about today’s ham radio.
Included is a brief history of radio, the many uses and modes of ham radio,
emergency communications, computer applications, and the licensing process.
Scenes show radio amateurs in a variety of activities:
operating ham TV from a hot air balloon, astronauts on board the
International Space Station,
radio clubs participating in a nationwide emergency drill,
and an international radio operation in Bhutan.
People of all ages and nationalities appear,
showing the broad appeal of amateur radio.
Produced by the Indian Hills Radio Club and the
QCWA Chapter One, of Cleveland.
